About The Pod
Strutpods are used to acquire cost effective imagery and data for engineering, agriculture, land use planning, ecological studies, wildlife management, pipeline surveys, power transmission, coastal studies, smart city modeling, disaster assessment and insurance claims.
Each pod consists of an adjustable, balanced clamping system with fiberglass fairings. It has two load carrying plates with a compartment for internal electronics. They were developed to overcome the difficulty and expense of deploying dedicated survey aircraft and crews for mapping areas between 200 and 5000 square kilometers and jobs in remote locations.
Strutpods have been used all over the world for nearly ten years. They can be supplied "bare bones" for users to add their own components or as a complete integrated system.
Capabilities & Features

Adaptable
Configurations can include LiDAR, RGB, multi-spectral or thermal sensors in various combinations.
Simple
Designed for use by any pilot or operator without special training.
Practical
Installation on a new aircraft typically takes about 15 minutes.
Capable
Certified since 2017 for up to 10kg loads on virtually all strutted Cessna types.
Engineered
Wind tunnel tested. Adjustable in pitch and yaw to eliminate airflow flutter and vibration.
Durable
Built to withstand harsh field treatment in remote areas by untrained crew.
Uncomplicated
Operates with internal batteries via wifi. No need to run cables.
Transportable
The system packs into itself and is transported in a single case.
